Telling and listening to stories is the way we, as humans, make sense of our lives. Not surprisingly, researchers in medicine, psychology, gerontology, education, the military, and many other fields are increasingly discovering the therapeutic benefits on health and well-being that come from sharing our stories. Some of these include: decreased stress, increased resiliency, lower blood pressure, reduced depression, and greater happiness.
Sara will describe how a variety of life review/storytelling programs are significantly helping people in all stages of life -- from children, to veterans, to retirees, to hospice patients.
When: Thursday, May 9, 2013 – 12:00pm – 1:15pm
