The talk covers the future of the web on mobile devices and why it is important for anyone with a website to make a responsive version. I will show some examples of how the same site looks on different devices and point people toward the Google URL for how they can see if their site is mobile-friendly. Finally, I will list some interesting statistics regarding how smartphone users interact with the web.

We all carry many kinds of insurance to protect ourselves and our loved ones against harm. The greatest risk over time is the risk of aging, especially as we live longer. Paying for the cost of care can devastate families financially and also takes a huge toll on the caregivers. Long-term care insurance is the answer—it provides care of your body as you age, it helps to maintain independence in your home or provides care in a facility, it provides protection of your assets, and takes the stressful and demanding caregiving off of loved ones. Help yourself, your partner, and your loved ones and be prepared for your aging with Long-Term Care insurance.

One-on-one piano lessons are a great way to learn how to play the piano. The lesson is all about you and what you need in order to learn. This can be both exciting and challenging. Inevitably you learn more about yourself right alongside learning how to play. Over the years of teaching many students of all ages, I’ll share those intangible gifts students have walked away with long after their lessons are over.

Piano teacher, Mary Walby, founded Discovery Music Academy, LLC in 2011. A commitment to excellence and a strong technical foundation are the cornerstones for having fun at the piano. They offer piano lessons to ages 7 and up, beginner through intermediate. For more information visit or call today for an introductory lesson: (360) 527-9626.

Cremation is a common term, but most people have no idea what it means. They may have a picture in their mind of a scary brick oven, but often that’s the extent of it. During this presentation, I will briefly describe the elements required for cremation, what happens during the process (both to the body of the pet as well as what is happening mechanically), and the end result. Also, I will walk through a “typical” example of what I do, step-by-step, starting with the initial contact from the pet parent, through to the point when the pet parent returns to pick up their pet’s after-care package.

Life Cycle Pet Cremation in Bellingham, WA is a pet-only funeral home and on-site cremation service offering personal, compassionate and respectful care for you and your pet. We offer three clearly defined cremation options, including a truly private cremation, and utilize numbered steel ID tags to guarantee the return of your pet’s cremated remains. Complimentary with any private or semi-private cremation, your pet’s After-care Package will include a high-quality wood urn, clay paw print, ink paw print, fur clipping, and Certificate of Cremation. More about Life Cycle can be found at

Come hear Karen describe a bit about her background, what tools and skills she has to offer to clients, and the approaches that she uses. She will also do a demonstration of a guided mediation and a helpful and fun creative technique to clarify goals.

In her own words, “I help individual and couples find solutions to their stresses.  Through counseling work together we will uncover the client’s ideas of health and happiness. I then help move clients toward their goals with confidence and ease using such tools as mindfulness, recognizing unhelpful patterns driven by anxiety or depression, or revealing old hurts. Through applying these tools, and reframing their challenges through a new lens, clients will be able to let go of unhelpful patterns and habits they may have developed to cope that are no longer helping manage difficult feelings or circumstances. Through therapy, clients will learn to successfully address and diminish depression, anxiety, anger or fears to regain balance, hope and energy again.  I use the tools of Mindfulness, knowledge of Neurobiology, Attachment Theory, Solution Focused Brief Treatment and DBT, as well as a humanistic, collaborative therapy style to help move clients closer to their goals.”
