Half of us will need long-term care at some point in our lives – be it due to an accident, illness, or the natural effects of aging.  And yet, many of us have no plan of how to handle this likely need.

Long term care is the kind of assistance you will need when you’re not able to perform daily activities such as eating, bathing, and dressing by yourself.  The goal of long term care planning is to keep you home longer, while protecting your retirement assets for their intended purpose. . . retirement.

Although the damage done to a person suffering from alcoholism can be obvious, the hurt to those around them can be harder to see. Children of alcoholics develop coping mechanisms – both helpful and challenging as they grow up into adults.

Virginia Malmquist, Counselor / Therapist, will talk about the tendencies people develop and how to mend those old hurts to overcome them as adults.

Assistance League of Bellingham
is an all volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to community enrichment through community service.  All volunteer means that every penny supports their five local service programs.

This gem of a local philanthropy provides new clothes to disadvantaged children, clothing & personal care items to women & children affected by domestic violence, sweats to folks in need in the emergency room, gifts for seniors in nursing homes, and scholarships for summer enrichment programs.
